This project aims at organization and institutionalization of FD which is composed of two levels of TA (Teaching Assistant) – TF (Teaching Fellow), and it is intended to practice FD activities for Fostering future type university students.

This time, focusing on understanding and support of developmental disorders, we will also deal with more general response to “feeling of schooling”. The university was designated as a base school of the student support network for disabled students of the Japan Student Services Organization in 2006, and continuing to send pioneering attempts to universities nationwide

We would like to have opportunities for teachers and students to share the latest information.

1. Effect and Purpose

This project aims at organization and institutionalization of FD which is composed of two levels of TA (Teaching Assistant) – TF (Teaching Fellow), and it is intended to practice FD activities for Fostering future type university students.

This time, Professors of Human Science (Tokyo Campus) , medical Science, and Interdisciplinary department will do model lectures regarding attitude and necessary skills when you come to class as TF.

As before, we expect that the graduate students who became TF, the graduate students aiming for TF, as well as faculty members and applicants at the university.

1. Purpose/Aim
This program aims to organize and systematize Faculty Development (FD) that consists of two levels: Teaching Assistants (TA) and Teaching Fellows (TF) to practice FD activities for fostering future university professionals.
Three FD programs have been implemented already. The school’s faculty members offered model classes and lectures and graduate students gave reports on the results of their on-site hands-on training.
This will be the fourth program and among the graduate students who received the Outstanding TF Award, four TF students will practice TF public classes.
We continue to expect greater participation from faculty members and researchers in addition to graduate students who are or want to be TFs.

Mental Health Lecture Session for Faculty and Staff Date: Tue. January 19, 2016.

As the tasks handled by the university faculty and its staff become increasingly sophisticated and diversified, a variety of burdens are placing the staff under greater stress, affecting their mental health. In this lecture session, Professor Yoshihiko Morotomi of Psychology at Meiji University, who is also Executive Director of the Japanese Association of Counseling Science, will speak about the mental health of the university faculty and its staff. He has been actively involved in this field for many years and is a graduate of our own university. We look forward to your active participation in this session.

Mental Health Lecture Session

FY 2015 First Faculty Development (FD) Program of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences

1.Purpose

The purpose of this program is to organize and institutionalize FD at three levels, namely, teaching assistants (TAs), teaching fellows (TFs), and teaching professors (TPs), so that FD activities can better serve the development of future faculties.

In this first session, model lectures on how a TF should prepare for a lecture and on the skills needed by TFs will be given by members of the Faculty of Human Science at the Tokyo campus and the Faculties of Medicine and  Interdisciplinary Sciences at Tsukuba[u1] .

As always, we encourage the participation of graduate students who are TFs, graduate students who aspire to become TFs, and faculty members; any students who wish to come and join us are welcome.

Success of the Third (2013) FD Program of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences ’

The third FD program was held On October 9. Our guest speaker, author Sarasa Ohno, spoke on the topic “Realizing care in symbiotic societies,” and our own Professor Tamaki Saito of Human Care Sciences gave us a lecture on “‘Uncovering needs in mental health.”
We had many attendees from other schools, too, and some students even asked the author to autograph her books after the lecture.
The 4th FD program is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014
