This project aims at organization and institutionalization of FD which is composed of three levels of TA (Teaching Assistant) – TF (Teaching Fellow) )-TP (Teaching Professor), and it is intended to practice FD activities for Fostering future type university students.
This time, Professors from Human Sciences, Health and sport sciences, and Art and design department give model lectures regarding attitude and necessary skills when you come to class as TF.
As before, we expect that the graduate students who became TF, the graduate students aiming for TF, as well as faculty members and applicants at the university.

2. Program content

Speaker: Yasunori Kanaho (Dean of the graduate School of Human Sciences)

Announcement of the second human High performance seminar “Brain imaging on the function of the hippocampus in depressive moods”

Date: Monday, 19th May, 2014,     17:00-
Place: 5C606, University of Tsukuba

Lecture contents: In order to clarify which areas of the hippocampus are related to human moods, we measured the activity of the hippocampus in healthy adults during the performance of the delayed sampling task with a functional MRI with high resolution. In this task, by changing the similarity between the figures to be inscribed, was changed the load of pattern separation is a function of hippocampal dentate gyrus.
The activity depended on the degree of similarity was observed in the dentate gyrus/ CA3 and medial ca1. Dentate gyrus /CA3 was activated than when the answers at the correct answer, the activity of the dentate gyrus/CA3 stronger depression mood was lowered. These results suggest that the activity of pattern separation of hippocampal dentate gyrus is involved in depressive mood in healthy subjects.
